TALES OF SYMPHONIA
PRESEA COMBATIR (64)
RP set for
madamaxeman.

METHOD:
- create one Soft Light layer, using it to fill in colours--these will look very dull and washed out. Her skin outlines and the background are the same shade of brown.
- duplicate the Soft Light layer, and set the new layer to Colour. I could theoretically have just put all the colouring on a single Colour layer, but that made the pink in the hair almost blinding.
- one Multiply layer, laying down dark shades in the hair with a solid-edged brush (her hair is all unshaded and toned normally, which drove me nuts.) I also use this to add more shading to her weapons and gloves, sometimes her clothes and eyes, and other miscellaneous objects.
- one Normal layer to put white highlights in her hair, using a 1-point brush.
- two more Multiply layers, to shade her skin. Instead of using the Gaussian Blur filter, I used a large brush with very soft edges.
- a Multiply layer for speech bubbles--I filled them in solidly with light blue, then used the Bucket Fill/Pattern tool at 20% opacity to add a marble texture.
